Oregon files plus rope review and questions

Oregon files are top notch as is the winch and most accessories. I have pulled seven 20 foot oak cuts; today the rope outer shell came apart midway through the pull using one of your pulleys. I shall contact Portable Winch Co. as well. Being a cynic, I think you will tell me I ran the rope over a rock or something. I am pulling on green winter grass at a slight angle. Thanks for an otherwise great product and accessories. How to fix or safe to use as is? William Cranford
